Blue Line Summer Series Slauson Station Pop Up

Fun times again at the Blue Line Summer Series, this time at the Slauson Station, together with LA Metro, Trust South LA, LA Conservation Corps, Fehr & Peers, and Metro Bike Hub. The event included a great DJ, food, 2 local artists, a bike repair station, as well as HereLA's Blue Line pop-up elements.  The DJ really got people dancing and the artists were live painting a cultural piece related to the event and community.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

See you this Sunday Aug 27 at the Metro Blue Line Vernon Station - North East corner of Vernon Ave and Long Beach Ave.

Here LA Selected for High Speed Rail Station Area Plan

Here LA was selected as part of the AECOM team to provide urban design support and creative outreach to engage the Burbank community about changes that High Speed Rail may bring in the coming years.  Throughout the Fall and Winter, we will be crafting a strategy for community engagement and carrying out two workshops and creative pop-ups in the field.  Perhaps a chance to integrate some Augmented or Virtual Reality into our community events!

Augmented Reality for Urban Planning

Fun conversations with Legacy Interactive about the future of virtual and augmented reality technologies in the urban realm.  Here we are trying out one of their new headsets. The better the technology gets, the more opportunities we have to creatively fold virtual and augmented platforms into our work, for example by letting people see what a high-speed rail station will look like in the future or by connecting two people in totally different locations immediately and in real time through a virtual portal or socializing space.  Let the experimentation begin!

Check out the dialogue at the Sydney Design Festival about interactive technologies and their impact on and potential within the architecture, planning, and development realms.
