The Long Beach - East LA Corridor Mobility Investment Plan Enters Phase 2!

Since the Long Beach-East LA Corridor Mobility Investment Plan was adopted in April 2024, the project has moved into its second, implementation phase! HERE’s work has continued into this new phase. First, we re-engaged with the community to share updates on projects and introduce the Community Working Group (CWG). The CWG will advise Metro on Investment Plan implementation moving forward.  In the next few months we will be evaluating and selecting applicants using a set of community-vetted selection criteria. HERE is also facilitating a series of Zero Emission Truck (ZET) discussions that are part of the LB-ELA project. ZET charging can eliminate thousands of pounds of nitrogen oxides from being released into the air, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality in the corridor. In a first-of-its kind partnership, Metro is working with zero emission truck developers to bring clean charging infrastructure to the LB-ELA corridor. A demo truck was brought in onsite so the community can see the technology first hand.
