Street Improvements Installed, Phase 1

This week, the first phase of safety treatments at Young Oak Kim Academy were installed. As the culmination of a year-long effort, LADOT, with support from HERE and KOA, has added safety measures to the street in front of the school like speed humps, curb extensions, improved traffic patterns, and a new “Kid’s Space”. These changes will help to reduce vehicle speeds in one of Los Angeles' most traffic-affected communities. Next month HERE will oversee Phase 2, which includes painting the custom designed mural in the Kid’s Space, with the students at the school.
