Unveiling the "Faces of YOKA": A Collaborative Mural Project with Young Oak Kim Academy

In a two-day event on January 10th and 11th, the HERE team collaborated with Young Oak Kim Academy (YOKA) students to create a vibrant street mural titled "Faces of YOKA" along Shatto Place, between Wilshire Boulevard and 6th Street in Koreatown. The installation includes a widened sidewalk area or“Kids Space", where the street mural is located. The installation also creates a safer drop-off/pick-up lane for YOKA students and uses delineators on the street center line to discourage u-turns. The "Faces of YOKA" mural uses simple shapes and vibrant colors to celebrate unity and diversity within the YOKA community. Thank you to the participating YOKA students for a great mural installation!
